O Allah, in this sanctified month of Sha’ban, we come before You, hearts laden with the weight of our present humiliation. More than a hundred of our Palestinian brethren have fallen, while some seven hundred others bear the scars of wounds inflicted by Israeli forces, as they callously opened fire upon hundreds awaiting sustenance southwest of Gaza City. Yet, the gaze of the world remains fixed upon this injustice.

In certain Muslim lands, the act of supplicating for Gaza in public is deemed forbidden, even as the world watches on. And still, there are Muslim nations that maintain cordial ties with the perpetrators of such atrocities. Even amidst the suffering of women, children, and the elderly in Gaza, there are those among us who dare to provide fresh fruits and vegetables to the oppressors. Have the deaths of over thirty thousand innocent souls in Gaza not sufficed to awaken the conscience of humanity?

In our own midst, even the Parliament, borne out of centuries-old struggles for the right to self-determination, hesitates to condemn this ongoing genocide. Is it because it fears displeasing the power in Malacañang, which unconditionally supports the perpetrators of this genocide?

We come to You, O Allah, as Prophet Noah once did, facing the obstinacy of the elders of his community. We come to You, as Prophet Moses stood against the unspeakable tyranny of Pharaoh, championing the cause of the oppressed Israelites. We come to You, as Prophet Abraham resisted the despotism of Nimrod, never wavering in his devotion to Your truth. We come to You, as Prophet Jesus confronted the obstinacy and corruption of Rabbis and Pharisees, steadfast in his pursuit of righteousness. We come to You, as Prophet Muhammad endured the hostility of the people of Mecca and Ta’if, unwavering in his mission of guidance.

We know, O Allah, that You do not forsake the oppressed against their oppressors. We know that You remind us in the Qur’an of the “Days of Allah” (‘ayyamullah’), wherein Your justice prevails. We know that the ultimate destiny of the oppressed, as Lady Zaynab confidently revealed in the Court of Yazid, is victory in the perpetual proclamation of “Muhammadur-rasullah” (“Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah”) in the call to prayer (adhan) across the globe.

O Allah, we earnestly beseech You to bestow upon us a Benevolent Rule (‘dawlatan karimah’), through which You may honor Your Religion and its adherents, humiliate hypocrisy (‘nifaq’) and its adherents, and count us among those who invite people to obey You and guide them to Your approved path.

Bless the forthcoming Divine Banquet (Ramadan) with the Awaited One’s advent.
